Destiny: Imagination is a morning class for Grades 1 thru 5 STEM Camp is an afternoon class running the same weeks and can be attended in conjunction with the Destiny classes. What is Destiny: Imagination? The goal of Destiny: IMAGINATION is to promote an identity of being scholarly through a foundation of essential skills used to think creatively and critically. Integrated inter-disciplinary themes that were developed by D102 staff (Ms. Burvikovs-Raggio & Dr. Lange) foster open-ended thinking will be the springboard for discussions, making connections, public speaking, producing original works, collaborating with other scholars, and most importantly, having FUN. In addition to the varying focus themes, grade level mathematics and games will be included in Destiny: IMAGINATION. Technology is used as a tool to support the goals of this experience. Destiny: Imagination Grade 1 = “I CAN DREAM …” Grade 2 = “I CAN SOLVE …” Grade 3 = “I CAN INVENT …” Grade 4 = “I CAN BUILD …” Grade 5 = “I CAN REIMAGINE …” Location: Destiny: IMAGINATION is held at Forest Road School (901 Forest Road, La Grange Park). Students who choose to attend S.T.E.M. Camp will stay for lunch/recess at Forest Road and then be walked to the Zak Science/STEM Center (930 Barnsdale Rd, La Grange Park).
